XII has easily become my favorite, although you can play VI and realize it still stands the test of time. I, like most other people, love VII, but when you go back and play it a few years after beating it for the first time, it really disappoints. IX is also wonderful, but in my opinion, it (along with X) suffer from the aforementioned VII syndrome.
