Yeah it would have been nice to see more "Non" Nintendo Licensed Characters. Although Snake is nice, MegaMan or Bomberman would have been alot better. Although I've been waiting for Sonic to appear since the Game Cube version & Sega started making games for Nintendo.
But with Snake from Konami it's only a matter of time till other licensed characters from different companies make it into the game.
MegaMan seems a more likely bet, because of Capcom's ties with Nintendo (remember Captain N?) before.

Earthbound was a horrible game. I use to bug my brother that he was too stupid to play real RPG games like Final Fantasy III (VI). I nagged at him for awhile after the 64 game was canceled and still bug him about being one of only 12 people in the world to buy Earthbound! LOL
