12.08.2006 PS3 ALREADY OUTSELLS 360 IN JAPAN, WII WINS

Despite the spike of interest in 360s in Japan thanks to Blue Dragon, PS3 has already ran 360s around Microsoft's success in Japan. In just 4 weeks of sales, the PS3 has already sold more 360s than Microsoft has been able to sell in Japan over the last 52 weeks. As of December 3, PS3 hardware sales have reached 187,836 units sold in Japan, which laughs at Xbox 360's total 178,070 Japanese units.

But the winner over in Japan? The Nintendo Wii by far. Selling 350,358 units on its first two days on sale put it not far behind the DS record of 468,883 units sold in a launch weekend two years ago. Looks like Wii60 won't be happening much in Japan this year, PS3 is already on its way to reestablishing its domination over the gaming market, the Merrill Lynch predictions are starting to look not as realistic anymore.

More like quality vs horseshit. AZN people love technology (ya insult me for the stereotype but you know it's true)and nothing is more cutting edge right now then a ps3. 1080p / BluRay, wireless motion controllers, free online service, it's as good as it gets. Compare that to the 360. 720p, add on HDDVD, online fee every month. I'm shocked they sold more then 100k. BTW as I called it, the Merrill Lynch article was a pile of crap.
