03.15.2007 GISH SEQUEL IN DEVELOPMENT

People bitch and moan about Psychonauts and Beyond Good and Evil not getting enough attention all the time, but a much less known game with an even more secretive cult following is the sidescrolling platformer Gish. I love the name, I love the character, and I love the game. You play as a ball of gelatinous tar searching ancient sewer cities for your stolen lady friend, and it never gets more complex than that. Moving is as simple as hitting the left or right keys, but your gooey mass gains momentum and makes every sprint and jump feel unique. To help you navigate more you also have retractable spikes for sticking to walls and attacking enemies. If you're new to Gish, I highly suggest you try out the fun physics in the free demo here. Since Castle Crashers was delayed to 2008, this is the new artsy game I'm looking forward to.

Thanks to GayGamer for noticing that this sequel is in development - the cool Cryptic Sea concept art for Gish 2 can be seen below.
