02.28.2007 G.R.A.W. 2 COMMERCIAL

1P Start noticed that there was a new Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 television commercial out, and took the time to upload it onto YouTube. It's got me thinking the same thing as when I saw the first game's commercials - I want this game. Fifty dollars later I've got a boring ass shooter with underwhelming explosions. My friends all loved it, I just don't like tactical shooters very much, and had high hopes for their gameplay and interface. Three days later the game broke my Xbox 360, so yeah, not exactly my favorite game. I'll probably still pick this up though just to see what Red Storm Entertainment is up to. I've got a friend who just got hired by Red Storm for level design, it's funny to hear drunken stories about professional game teams. If you liked the commercial, look for G.R.A.W. 2 in stores on March 6th.

01.31.2007 NEW XBOX LIVE DEMO DOWNLOADS

Ubisoft has just released the single player demo for their Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 game on Xbox Live, but you can only get it if you're an Xbox Live Gold member. The GRAW 2 demo lets you play the second of twelve total campaign missions and is about 625MB in size. The game consists of fourteen multiplayer maps and six co-op maps, and comes out in stores on March 9th, 2007. This Thursday the Def Jam: Icon demo will also be available for download, with the single player demo featuring the rappers T.I. and Big Boi. Then, on Friday, you can download the NBA Street: Homecourt demo. In other words, just download GRAW 2 and forget about the rest of the week. The video above shows some of what you can expect to see in the sequel.

01.16.2007 NEW G.R.A.W. 2 PC SCREENSHOTS

I was never a fan of Tom Clancy's first Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter video game, but my friends played it enough in one day to overheat my 360 and summon the red rings on death on my console. The sequel to the squad-based game is being developed by Ubisoft Paris and Red Storm Entertainment, and will release worldwide later this year in March on PC, PS3, Xbox 360, and PSP.

The plot is pretty basic - it's the year 2014 and there's a new threat to America. Typical Tom Clancy stuff. If you ever want a guide to 101 different ways to describe khaki pants and a Rolex watch on a clammy Summer afternoon outside a restaurant, then Tom Clancy novels are a good place to start. But if you've got enough balls to put down the book and explore the breached U.S./Mexico border wall in person, then G.R.A.W. 2 is the game for you. The ghosts are stronger this time around, but the enemies "don't play by the rules." Sounds like a Denzel Washington movie. The game doesn't seem to offer anything really new, just better graphics and improved A.I., but if the formula works then why change it for the sequel.

Here's some new pictures of the game on a PC. If you crave more then here's several more pictures of the game on an Xbox 360.
