Man, Bob Barker didn't even go out with a game of Plinko in his last episode, so disappointing. Don't worry though, I've got something to cheer you up -- a brand new car! Okay, I lied, but it's still pretty sweet. A few weeks ago the programmer pumped out avatar commenting accounts for you guys, then he added a Latest Comments section so we could keep track of the daily bickering on the site, and Deez already has another new site feature for us. Now if you click on someone's picture and visit their profile, you'll see the "Send Message" and "Address Book" options, with a "My Messages" mailbox in each of your own account profile sections. When someone sends you mail there should be a message in the upper right corner of the screen below your avatar picture letting you know you've got new TLB mail.
We're still working on plenty of more updates, but until then feel free to send me porn or swap your Gamertags, PS3 Network names, and mile-long friend codes with your favorite readers. Another small update is the search bar on the right sidebar. We fixed it to search through all the words in my posts, not just the headlines of each story, so it's pretty effective at finding older articles.
Also, in the past I've had a few readers email me with account registration and login issues. The problem has finally been fixed, and if you sign up now it should work fine. I love hearing a wide range of opinions on all gaming topics, so make an account, upload a picture, and give it a try. If you still can't register or login, then the only other possible problem it could be is that your email is stuck in unverified limbo, so just email me personally and I'll fix it right away. And keep suggesting things you'd like to see added to the site, expect some huge changes in the next few months.
As plenty of you have noticed over the past few weeks, The Last Boss now supports account avatar images for commenting on my news posts, and you even get your own special profile section, too. That means there's no longer three different "Michael" readers all appearing as the same person, we all have a picture to go along with our words. And thanks to our awesome coder Deez, we now also have line breaks working in the comments, so feel free to rant as long as you'd like without worry of it all being smooshed together in one wall of text.
The account profiles (just click on a commenter's picture) should be upgraded in the next few weeks to contain lots of new information sections to help you spread your gamer info to other readers on this site. So sign up if you haven't yet, and upload an account thumbnail to test it out, while I slowly work on getting you all more perks. Or don't, we'll just laugh at your "noob" avatar and disregard your opinions. Besides, I'll get you to sign up eventually, don't fight me - plenty of more reader giveaways are on the way in the next few months.
What else is being planned? Forums? More sidebar sections? More reviews? It's all being considered, and it's ultimately up to you readers. I want to start hearing everyone's opinions on the industry and the daily news, so I can start giving everyone the stories they want, and not just the typical crap they could find elsewhere on other sites. More Japanese games? More gaming music? More concept art? I'm a big _______ fanboy and you want more ________ news? Sign up and help shape the future of the site - the more of a daily community we build, the more press releases and giveaways I can get us, so let's make this the best site it can possibly be.
Don't worry though, being a big asshole and pissing off the majority is still my priority, TLB is all about giving voice to the disgruntled gamers out there, I just want to branch out the hate and underdog support to new horizons. If you've got other site update ideas, feel free to let me know. And if you run into any registration problems please email me and I'll work it out as soon as possible. Thanks to everyone who reads every day, expect a lot of changes in the next few months.
