03.02.2007 DON'T BUY BULLET WITCH FOR XBOX 360

Bullet Witch just came out for Xbox 360, and I was thinking about playing it simply because it had some messed up looking enemies (like the dude above). But then my friend on TheBBPS sent me this list of reasons why I shouldn't waste my money:

  • Idiotic AI
  • Unfinished graphics and ugly textures
  • Lighted areas too bright
  • Dark areas too black
  • No lock-on
  • No jumping
  • No radar or onscreen notification of enemies
  • Cheap deaths
  • Horrendous voice-acting
  • Cumbersome system for casting spells
  • Camera angle too low to the ground
  • Floating brains
  • Bosses with huge pulsating weak points
  • Invisible and visible barriers all over the place

Sounds pretty terrible, I especially hate the last reason. I can't stand it when games throw in invisible boundaries without at least taking the time to put in a 3D reason why I can't go somewhere. He even gave the game a rating as bad as 2/10, ouch. Not exactly the game after Lost Planet I was hoping for. If you think this assessment is crap, feel free to read his whole review here for more reasons why the game sucks. I suggest renting this game at best if it has this many noticeable flaws. If you've also played it then feel free to add some more to the list.

Bullet Witch and Bomberman: Act Zero should get together and have a baby and that baby will be a game so bad it will single-handedly cause the second video game crash.

Don't you think it's a little presumptuous to tell people NOT to buy a game before you've even played it? One guy might hate it, but another might love it. And no, I'm not biased. I don't even own a 360 and will probably never play the game. Still, half the complaints on that list could apply to Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, which I do own and have played. The game was still entertaining. Perhaps this one could be, too.

That's funny considering the American version is supposed to be superior to the original. I've always hated brains since Robotron 2084.
