The online comic XKCD has had a few good gamer comics in the past, and this is another clever work of art. This is their map of the Internet if you could actually divide it up into landmasses where the most people hang out online. It even organizes it all in four different directions of logic, as opposed to just north, south, east and west. Somewhere in the Not far from Wikipedia in the south is The Last Boss inside the Blogipeligo, spreading information, and up top are the mindless Mysapces. Travel further east and you find the online gaming communities, although I think it's time for World of Warcraft to invade some of Second Life, they don't deserve to own that much land based on the size of their community. If you thought Crackdown's 300 hidden orbs was a good way to keep you busy until Halo 3 comes out, then prepare to be bored way sooner than planned. Here's a cheat sheet for every single one of the secret orbs hidden in the game. You don't even have to take the time to track down each blip on , if you check out Herman Gatevold's full Picasa , he's got a screenshot of every orb's location in the game to make it even more simple for you sleuths.

Speaking of 300, how did you guys like the movie? Enough invigorating music and Frank Miller fights to astound you? Or was it just Lord of the Rings with Sloth from The Goonies to you? "Hay you Spartanssss!" The credits actually listed someone in the movie as an "Ubermortal" - so that's now my new race, religion, and ethnicity as far as I'm concerned. I thought it was awesome enough to change my entire retirement plan - instead of a death filled with tornadoes and terrorism, I now plan on going to war with everyone. When I'm 170 and death is inevitable I'll just go to war. Not with anyone in particular, I doubt I'll actually bump into a living Xerxes, but I'll pick the best 300 out of my retirement home and we'll set out for battle. Pulling off a full phalanx wearing Depends diapers and colostomy bags will be difficult for Arcadian elderly, but not for us Ubermortals.

You probably won't be able to play it on your computer, but why not at least stare at it? The DE_Wanda Counter Strike Source map was created by Soenke c. "Warby" Seidel, and the detailed textures he uses combined with HDR lighting make the level look better than most games you'll play all year. Add to that a part in the level where a colossus actually fights a Half-Life 2 Combine walker and you've got potentially one of the best gaming moments of 2007. If you're involved with any gaming forums on the Internet, you've definitely been mauled by potential molesters and pathetic prepubescents with their Wii friend codes. If you want to get rid of them then just direct them here. And if you are one of them, then go here anyways. If you enter your country and state information it uses Google Maps to pinpoint all the Wiitards around you that also registered their Wii friend codes on the site. ButI should warn you that the Web site is ESRB rated 'A' for axe murderers and 'F' for furry gatherings.

"On Tuesday, December 26 there will be no scheduled downtime for weekly maintenance. We will perform all necessary maintenance tasks while the realms are live. We are anticipating the possibility that we may need to perform rolling restarts off-peak if we find that a realm restart is necessary; however the downtime for each realm would be less than 10 minutes if it was required."

So from now on hopefully down times will be kept to a minimum for you W.O.W. players. Burning Crusade is almost here so hopefully the good news just keeps on coming.

Get outside of the map War Machine on Here's a video of a clever curb-stomper who jumped from head to head to hop over a dead end on the War Machine map in Gears of War. Besides crappy music, the beginning is just the typical walk through rubble clipping we've seen before, but by the end he's completely off and under the map looking into dark nothingness. Seeing walls and textures end in such a realistic world is quite the immersion killing experience, but it reminded me of the famous warp pipes in the Super Mario Bros games. Can you imagine how shocking it would be if CliffyB threw in a hidden warp pipe in Gears of War? A million pixel piranha plant eating a Gears of War locust enemy would be the coolest desktop wallpaper ever.
