06.01.2007 EGM SOUL CALIBUR IV DETAILS

There's no pictures to go along with the news like in the Halo 3 preview below, but the newest issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly has these new details towards the end of the magazine:

"If you're hankering for a virtual fistfight, top-quality options about -- the Virtua Fighter, Tekken, and Dead or Alive franchises all offer satisfying punch-up action. But if you're truly looking to give your opponent something to cry about, it's all about wielding sharpened steel, and nothing beats Namco Bandai's Soul Calibur series for weapon-based fighting thrills. In our world-exclusive preview, we'll reveal the future direction of this beloved series."

We still don't have any confirmation of when to expect the fourth game, or which consoles to expect it on, so hopefully the new EGM issue offers even more insight. I haven't received my copy in the mail yet, so feel free to give us an update if it's already arrived at your place.

SC has such a huge following I feel like I missed something by not picking up the game years ago.  I like watching the game but I never got the playstyle down.

I'm still waiting to hear about the SFII HD you promised me Tom, where are the updates?!

I think the consoles are pretty clear.

Ps3/360, with a seperate wii version. I'm calling it right now.

I dunno, it doesn't specifically say SOUL CALIBUR IV anywhere in that blurb. They're probably talking about Soul Calibur Legends for the Wii. Not that I'm not interested in a new SC game, especially something that'll wash the bad taste of Soul Calibur III from my mouth. Boy, what a childhood-raping moment that was. Soul Calibur II was perfect, and SCIII was terrible. Hopefully they base SCIV on the arcade version and not "direct-to-console" it.

I was about to say that kintar0.

It would be funny if it was just news on SCL for Wii and not IV for arcades and home consoles.
