06.01.2007 THE LAST REMNANT VIDEO ON SPIKE TV TONIGHT

Last month we had a lot of Square Enix news, but very little video to go along with that was shown at the Square Enix Party. It wasn't until just a few days ago that we finally got to see the Final Fantasy IV cinematic DS trailer, and a week before that the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Crystal Bearers Wii trailer. Spike TV has another video for us to finally get a peek at -- late tonight on Game Head, at 1AM, they'll be showing the video preview for The Last Remnant that was shown previously at the Square Enix Party.

With a combat system altogether different than what Square Enix has attempted before, it will be fun to see the battle tactics in action. The Last Remnant still doesn't have a target release date yet, although it will be released in America and Japan simultaneously when it's ready to be shipped.

11.10.2006 CALL OF DUTY 3 . . . THE REALITY SHOW?

Say whuhhh? Spike TV’s 'Game Head' series is set to air on late Friday night at 12:30 A.M., and will feature 16 Call of Duty gamers experiencing Call of Duty experiences in real life. Riiight.  The episode, “Call of Duty 3: Challenge,” will make the 16 gamers compete in physical and mental challenges that allow them “to see what happens when a game becomes a reality.” The first thing that went through my head was hopping over corpse filled trenches to sticky bomb a tank, with Nazis shooting at you from behind the Call of Duty cloned cow corpses.

Somehow I doubt those are the phsyical and mental challenges lined up for our reality TV stars. Actually, this might be the most laughable 'reality TV show' ever - a show based on a video game based on a war fought against a man who had very little grasp on reality. However, the winner of the episode gets a trip for two to Normandy, France, so I can't blame 16 gamers for leaving their basements and passing up valuable Call of Duty 3 time that was just recently released. I think it would be awesome if the show was just a farse and the real show begins when the winner lands in Normandy, which isn't Normandy at all - but instead a Hollywood TV set depicting a 2006 version of World War beginning on Normandy once again.

Can you imagine the gold behind cinematic of a gamer in a Call of Duty T-shirt being pushed off a plane with his fake rifle prize as all of Normandy beach's foes look at him through their sights and rigged Hollywood firecrackers start to explode all around him? Not so funny when the Nazis are real, is it? Instead of hearing "Jerrrrry," the only thing we'll be hearing though the gunfire is "Mommmmmy!" Sign me up.
