Forums? Could be okay. But this site seems to be about tiny nuggets of fringe news. Stuff that's too quirky or geeky to get its own writeup on bigger, more corporate sites. Well, at least that's what I get out of it. Forums would almost move too slow.

don't fall for it! the company behind these machines are evil genuises. their first incarnation of this game was called "Lighthouse," and consisted of a clunky spinning wheel with numbers on it. all you had to do was stop the wheel three times to add up to 5 or more. with prizes like electric razors and Game Boy Advance SPs, i watched about 30 people drop a crapload of cash in it one afternoon. not one winner. there's no trick. there's no hand-eye coordination. it's just a simple counting circuit that can be rigged from as low as 1/400 and as high as 1/1200. the company has PDF operation manuals online. take a look. you're better off playing a slot machine. although if you're gonna play, may as well find one with a sweet prize.

So it took the game's level designer 4 hours to beat it? I could race through any maze/puzzle game if I had beat it once before, let alone designed it. Even if it is pretty simple, that only gets me more excited. Package it separately for $15 and you have one of the best-selling casual games of all time.

it'd have to be a good $150 price slash for it to start attracting some more middle class folks. anything over $299 for the bare-bones system is a big pill to swallow. you really think Sony will shave off that much so quickly? i'd say $100 off, tops, by christmas.

Well, GTA: San Andreas had a classic hip hop station where just about every single artist was from NYC (Kool G, Slick Rick, Gang Starr, etc), and of course that game wasn't set in anything resembling the empire state. And since categorizing some old cheap songs as a retro station is pretty easy, the only way you could deduce the game setting/time is by finding the most current songs being scouted. Of course, it's pretty obvious that the game will be in the present day. I think GTA IV will just be a sharp update to GTA III. It may even be set in Liberty City again. I thought I read somewhere that the map won't be as huge as San Andreas, since they'll want to detail everything from the ground up again.

i heard the news snippets last week about Playstation Home, but i shrugged it off as another Sony failure. this looks flat-out amazing. the whole time i watched that video i actually just felt really bad for Nintendo. their online setup looks positively silly now. of course, we'll just have to wait and see if this sucker actually delivers. just like anything too good to be true these days, it'll probably be much more crippled, features-wise, than it seems.
