05.24.2007 PLAYING MARIO MUSIC ON GUITAR HERO II

I know you guys love the Guitar Hero games, and as we wait for more of the upcoming playlists to be revealed, here's a song we won't be getting with the purchase of any new Guitar Hero games. TheBBPS found this video of several Super Mario Bros. songs played on Guitar Hero 2 for PlayStation 2, and it makes me wish Guitar Hero Encore: Rock the 80s actually featured 80s game music instead of 80s band songs. It starts to get really fun at a minute and a half when the underwater music begins, and especially at two minutes when the sewer sounds kick in. If you're foaming at the fingers with desire to hack Guitar Hero 2 with your own custom songs, then check out this "idiot proof" guide. With a dozen steps and half a dozen needed programs to make it work, I wouldn't call it easy, but it's worth it to rock out to your own tunes with your own difficulty settings.

05.01.2007 HOW TO CLONE POKEMON: PSY - I - I - I - DUCK

According to GameFAQs forum member Nathan_Winters, there's an intricate exploit code in Pokemon Pearl/Diamond that allows you to clone one Pokemon at the expense of overwriting another:

1. I had a level 12 Machop in Daycare.
2. I wanted to place my level 12 Psyduck in Daycare as well.
3. I went to the PC at the Daycare, withdrew Psyduck, and then subsequently placed it in Daycare alongside the Machop.
4. Continued adventure for a long time. When I came back both Pokes were well into their 20s.
5. I withdrew the Machop and then placed it in the PC. I then withdrew a Misdreavus from the PC to get my old team back.
6. However, I also decided I wanted to take the Psyduck out of Daycare a bit of time later.
7. I try to take the Psyduck, but find that my party is full.
8. I head to the PC to deposit a Pokemon. As I look around the box I notice something EXTREMELY peculiar: a level 12 Psyduck with the exact same traits as the Psyduck in Daycare (nickname, nature, moveset, etc.). The only difference was the levels.
9. Looked around for my Machop. Seems it no longer exists.
10. Surely enough I can use both Psyducks.

Shapeshifting DNA?! What's next, dinosaurs with flowers growing out of their backs? Once he posted this news in the forums there were plenty of others who tried to recreate the scenario, with only a few having luck. They're taking the time to narrow down the variables this glitch depends on, and if they figure it out, they'll surely be trading away several clones of the rarest Pokemons and slowly ruin the pseudo supply and demand for them. Kick those dupers in their pupers! Or join them here. Also, someone found a similar glitch/exploit in the Japanese version of the game, which you can see here. Although these sort of exploits are nothing new to the series.

04.05.2007 WORLD OF WARCRAFT CURSOR HACK

BBC is reporting on a World of Warcraft hack that's slowly rising in numbers online. Hackers were able to exploit a flaw in the cursor code, and accounts getting stolen started to become a popular complaint in late March. To make things worse, hackers started to infect certain sites with the exploit, causing World of Warcraft players browsing the net on Internet Explorer 6 and 7 to occasionally put themselves at risk when they least expected it. Upon further investigation, it seems like the vulnerability was actually in Microsoft's code, and that it was only a problem with people using animated cursors (morons and housewives).

Nevertheless, to help solve the problem, Microsoft released a patch for it on April 3rd, earlier than its usual round of annoying downloads. If you need the Microsoft update, you can download it here from Microsoft. Good luck trying to explain your absence in Azeroth to your guild, I suggest making up an excuse.
