I gave up after the first film, so I have no idea what the idea behind the third Resident Evil movie is. With the name Resident Evil: Extinction it's not too hard to narrow down the plot, but I still hit up IMDb to see if I was missing anything. Here's the official plot according to them:
"Survivors of the Raccoon City catastrophe travel across the Nevada desert, hoping to make it to Alaska. Alice (Jovovich) joins the caravan and their fight against the evil Umbrella Corp."
Looks like the first mission should be to locate a globe - if there's one thing I didn't see when I was in Vegas, it was definitely Alaska in the distance past the desert dunes. Was the series this retarded? I'll admit the special effects of the Vegas vagabonds won't be too enjoyable for download quality, but that's exactly what tricked me into watching the first film. And this one has that psycho bitch from the TV shoes Heroes that meets the boring quota for each episode - Ali Larter is never a sign of a good movie. Although, Milla Jovovich pretty much set a record low with Ultraviolet, perhaps Paul Anderson is using that to his advantage. Either way, umbrellas have no reason to be in a desert, and there's no reason for me to go see this movie.
Uwe Boll might have 6 Razzie Award nominations, but that won't deter the Resident Evil movie maker Paul W. S. Anderson from trying to put Hollywood through his own amount of hell. His new Castlevania movie details tell us he'll actually be filming in Transylvania, so at least the environments will be convincing - hopefully he can pull off a solid story too. He described the landscape as "some of the most amazing scenery I have ever seen. It was like discovering Mordor as a real location -- epic, dramatic, and above all scary. These locations haven't been shot properly in a mainstream movie, so that is always extra exciting . . . to put something on camera that hasn't been seen before."
The budget is still being finalized, but they won't be filming until next winter so they can get snow on the ground in forest scenes. Way to waste this season of snow, good luck on getting all the money you need. Anderson plans to travel to Budapest for the interior castle shots they need, and then do post production in London, so it'll be a while before we see a trailer telling us what to expect from this movie. There's only a few rumored actors involved, but I'm not looking forward to this film at all. The Resident Evil films were like a less terrible Ultraviolet movie, and the closest I've come to ever liking a movie about vampires was the anime film Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. Sitting through a 90 minute movie of human fangs and cliche vampire movie twists is not something I'll be paying for.
Rumors are more fast and furious than Vin D&D lovin' Diesel himself, so while some rumors deserve their own posts to spread lies and agony throughout the week, others are worth just mentioning together in one vile gathering of gab. Here's some recent ones that are floating around, feel free to take them as fact and do as much harm as possible:
If this leave you depressed, you should know that Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past for SNES is now up on the Wii's virtual console.
Oh yah, and the Crackdown demo will supposedly be available Tuesday morning (tomorrow) at 2 AM on Xbox Live Marketplace.

The games will initially be playable only on the PSP, but Sony has announced the first wave of PS1 games that will be available for download on their PS3. Sony also plans on adding 10 titles per month to the service, but pricing hasn't been announced yet. The PlayStation Store will also feature downloadable PS3 and PSP content, although specifics for that hasn't been announced yet either. However, Sony did announce that once you're logged in on the PlayStation Network section, that you'll be able to send text messages with attachments to the people in your friend list. You'll also be able to engage in voice and audio chat by accessing the Cross Media Bar's AV Chat option. But onto the important news, here's the official list of PS1 games for download on PS3 so far, but be warned that you might yawn a few times:
